Several modes of ground transportation operate at LAX to facilitate the movement of passengers and visitors to and from the airport.

To help lessen vehicle traffic congestion in the Central Terminal Area, LAX also has a 24-hour LAX Cell Phone Waiting Lot where motorists meeting arriving passengers can wait for free until passengers call to say they are ready to be picked up terminal curbside. No commercial vehicles or ride-service vehicles are allowed in the Cell Phone Waiting Lot.

LAX Shuttle & Airline Connection
Frequent, courtesy shuttle service is provided between terminals to assist travelers in getting from one terminal to another for airline connections (A Route). Shuttles also transport passengers to and from Employee Parking lots). Shuttle service is also provided to and from the Metro Rail Green Line Aviation Station (G Route). To use our shuttle service, travelers should board the LAX Shuttle under the LAX Shuttle & Airline Connections blue sign on the Lower/Arrivals Level islands in front of each terminal.
The Shuttle service provided to LOT C is no longer on the lower level. Passengers should board the LOT C bus on the Upper/Departures Level.

|A||Transports passengers between terminals. "A" route operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and runs every 10 minutes.|
|C||Transports passengers to and from Parking Lot C. Passengers are dropped off/picked-up at the Private Parking Lots Shuttle Zone on the upper level roadway only (departures level). Travelers can walk to the LAX City Bus Center from Lot C. "C" route operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and runs every 15 to 20 minutes.|
Transports passengers with a valid TAP card to and from the Metro Green Line Aviation Station. From 9 p.m. on January 26 until early April, this shuttle will serve the Hawthorne/Lennox Station due to Metro Rail construction. Service is aligned with the rail schedule. Many major airport-area hotels and privately operated parking lots provide courtesy transportation from LAX terminals.
Stops for shuttles for hotels are located on the Lower/Arrivals Level islands in front of each terminal under the red sign Hotel Shuttles.

Long Distance Vans
The following long-distance, door-to-door van company provides service from LAX to areas north of Los Angeles County. Passengers are encouraged to contact the company first for more information. These vans pick up passengers on the Lower/Arrivals Level islands in front of each terminal under the green sign FlyAway, Buses & Long Distance Vans.

- Roadrunner Shuttle - Travels to Simi Valley (about 44 miles, or 71 kilometers, northwest of LAX), and to Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties (both northwest of LAX), with the drive taking from about one to two hours depending on the specific destination.
Free shuttle bus service is provided from the Metro Green Line Aviation Station. Passengers wishing to use this shuttle bus service should wait under the LAX Shuttle & Airline Connections sign on the Lower/Arrivals Level islands in front of each terminal, and board the "G" Shuttle.
Passengers also can take the "Lot rel="noopener noreferrer" C" Shuttle to get to the Metro Bus Center, where they can board city buses serving the Los Angeles area. Information on city bus services is available by telephone on the Information Display Board in the baggage claim area in each terminal. In addition, passengers can obtain local transit information by calling 323.GO.METRO or 323.466.3876.

Other public bus authorities serving LAX are Culver City Bus Lines, Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, and Torrance Transit. (Click on each bus line name for contact information.) Passengers can pick up these buses at the Metro Bus Center in Lot C.
Rental Car offices are located off airport, away from airline terminals. The following rental car companies are authorized to pick-up and drop-off their customers at the airline terminals using courtesy shuttles. These companies meet arriving customers under the purple sign "Rental Car Shuttles" on the Lower/Arrivals Level islands outside baggage claim.
The following rental car companies are required to meet customers at the Remote Rental Car Depot at the intersection of Century and Airport boulevards. These customers r board LAX shuttle buses marked “G-GREENLINE” under the blue sign LAX Shuttle Airline Connection

- Santa Barbara Airbus - Travels to Santa Barbara, plus nearby Goleta and Carpinteria. The drive to these areas (located northwest of LAX, along the sea coast) from the airport usually takes between one and a half to two hours.

- Ventura County Airporter - Travels to Ventura and Oxnard, on the sea coast about one hour to one hour and a half northwest of LAX.
Shared Ride Vans
Two shared ride van companies, Prime Time Shuttle and SuperShuttle, operate out of LAX and are authorized to serve all Southern California counties.

These vans pick up passengers on the Lower/Arrivals Level in front of each terminal.
Please look for signs that read “Shared Ride Vans” at terminal curbside near the exits from baggage claims areas.
Taxicab and Fare Information
Taxis can be found curbside on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal under the yellow sign indicating Taxis. Passengers will be presented with a ticket stating typical fares to major destinations. Only authorized taxis with an official seal issued by City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation on each vehicle are permitted in the airport. It is illegal for any transportation services to solicit fares, and travelers using such services do so at their own risk.

Transportation Network Companies
Lyft, Inc. and Rasier-CA, LLC (Uber) are authorized to provide pick-up services at LAX. Passengers can make a request once they are located on the terminal curbside.
Authorized Transportation Network Companies may drop-off and pick-up passengers on the Airport Upper/Departures Level only. The airport fee applies to both a drop-off trip and to a pick-up trip.
Signs that state “Ride Service Pick-Up” are positioned on the Upper/Departures Level to facilitate the meeting point. Always confirm that you are getting in the correct vehicle with the designated driver shown on the app.
